Hyderabad: Woxsen University is hosting a special edition of the The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) member panel discussion on “Industry-Academia Interface in Higher Education” on 15th December.
“Industry and academia interface is highly crucial in knowledge driven economy, where the students pursuing different professional programmes are expected to be well versed in the industry working. Woxsen University consciously encourages industry interaction with a wide cross-section of professionals in the industry across the globe,” said Dr Raul V Rodriguez, pro-vice-chancellor.
The symposium will be moderated by Nishit Jain, senior special advisor- Asia, EFMD. The members on the panel include Dr Raj Devasagayam, dean- The Leon Hess Business School, Monmouth University, USA; Dr Amber Wigmore Alvarez, chief talent officer- Highered; Amy Memon, regional head, South Asia- AACSB International and Dr Mark Scott Rosenbaum, dean- The Graham School of Management, Saint Xavier University, USA.
While industry often focuses on addressing solutions that are of near-term commercial value and academia focuses on building new knowledge through research and imparting education to students, the combination can yield accelerated development of new breakthroughs.
Such industry-academia partnerships are instrumental in advancing research and creating a skilled workforce.
“At Woxsen, this is a special webinar as its core pillars involve fostering the culture of research & development, internationalisation, entrepreneurship, experiential learning, innovation and sustainability. This symposium will witness an international audience including partner universities and corporate entities along with our students and faculties,” Chahat Mishra, head, International Relations added.
Woxsen University is a member of accreditation bodies such as AACSB, EFMD and The Association of MBAs (AMBA).
The session will be live streamed on 15th December from 6:30pm to 8:00pm IST.
