Hyderabad: Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, in collaboration with the Academy for Advanced Pulmonary Education and Research (AAPER), successfully conducted a national-level ‘Severe Asthma Preceptorship Conference and Live Workshop’ at its facility in Hitec City.

The workshop, which was inaugurated by the MD, Yashoda Hospitals, Dr G S Rao, witnessed participation from over 400 delegates across India, including pulmonologists and medical students.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr G S Rao stated that severe asthma continues to be a significant healthcare challenge. Despite the availability of advanced treatment options, lack of proper identification, phenotyping, and awareness about modern therapies often leads to suboptimal patient outcomes, he said.

The conference featured expert sessions on key topics such as the definition of severe asthma, phenotyping in the Indian context, treatment optimisation, eosinophilic lung diseases including ABPA and EGPA, the use of biologics, and the goal of asthma remission. Interactive case discussions and faculty-led sessions were among the major highlights of the programme, Senior Interventional Pulmonologist at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City, Dr V Nagarjuna Maturu said in a press release.
