Kothagudem: Yellandu forest divisional officer (FDO) K Venkanna was removed from services for alleged negligence of duties.
The FDO was accused of committing irregularities in handing over and taking over of 82.67 acres of compensatory afforestation land (CA) in non-forest lands in lieu of diversion of forest land for Sitarama Lift Irrigation Project at Pusapally village of Yellandu mandal in the district.
Venkanna who worked as Yellandu FRO during 2016-2018 while taking over the area has not taken the differential global positioning system (DGPS) authenticated map, but changed the map excluding some portion of the CA land to benefit some persons, who were also working in the forest department.
During enquiry it was found that the accused officer has changed the map several times, tampered and manipulated information and records.
It was a clear case of cheating the government with criminal intention hence he was removed from services, said an order from principal chief conservator of forests Rakesh Mohan Dobriyal.
