Young B Tech graduate’s death triggers protests in Khammam
Sanjay’s family members, colony residents, and friends staged a protest at the Karunagiri bridge area demanding that the police nab those responsible for his death
Khammam: The death of B Tech graduate P Sanjay Kumar (22), of Rajiv Swagruha Colony in Khammam rural mandal in the district a couple of days ago triggered protests here on Wednesday.
Sanjay’s family members, colony residents, and friends staged a protest at the Karunagiri bridge area demanding that the police nab those responsible for his death.
They alleged that the police were sidetracking the case while maintaining that the youth was killed when he tried to save a girl from unidentified assailants.
The colony youths took out a protest rally when Sanjay Kumar’s body was taken to the colony.
Khammam rural ACP Tirupathi Reddy, town ACP A V Ramana Moorthy, and others visited the spot and Government General Hospital where the autopsy was performed.
Meanwhile, four police teams have been formed to crack the case. A police team inspected the house in Hyderabad that Sanjay had rented for undergoing software training.
