Rajanna-Sircilla: In a tragic incident, a youngster died after falling into a pothole between Mamidipally in Konaraopet mandal and Hanumajipet in Vemulawada rural mandal.
The victim, Allepu Harish (22), suffered a severe head injury after the fall and died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Siddipet on Tuesday.
To draw water from nearby water bodies, local farmers had earlier laid pipelines by digging across the road. Although the pits were later filled with soil, they developed holes again due to rains and the movement of heavy vehicles.
A native of Lingapur in Manakondur mandal of Karimnagar district, Harish had gone to visit relatives in Mamidipally on October 3. While travelling on his bike, he accidentally fell into the pothole and sustained grievous head injuries. He was first admitted to the Vemulawada area hospital and later shifted to Siddipet, where he succumbed during treatment.
Following a complaint from his parents, Vemulawada rural police registered a case and launched an investigation.
