Youngster held for attempt to murder in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Balapur police on Wednesday arrested a youngster on charges of attempting to murder his friend earlier this week.

The suspect, Mohd Jabbar (20), an auto-rickshaw driver from Tayyab Colony in Balapur and Mohd Moosa from Bandlaguda in Chandrayangutta, were close friends but had a fight over a financial issue recently and bearing a grudge against Moosa, Jabbar decided to kill him.

He called Moosa for a liquor party at his home on Sunday night and after getting Moosa drunk, Jabbar picked up an argument over the financial issue.

“During the argument, he stabbed Moosa multiple times on the head with a knife,” an official said, adding that Jabbar fled the spot leaving Moosa bleeding. Moosa, who is being treated at the Osmania General Hospital, is out of danger now.
