Youngster killed on the spot as car mows down bike in Mancherial

A 23-year-old man was killed after a car hit his two-wheeler on a bridge across the Godavari river in Gudem village of Mancherial district. The victim was returning from Jagtial when the accident occurred late on Friday night

Mancherial: A 23-year-old man was killed on the spot when a car hit the two-wheeler on which he was travelling on a high-level bridge across the Godavari river at Gudem village in Dandepalli mandal after midnight on Friday.

Police said Akula Akshay from Gudem received grievous injuries when the car hit his two-wheeler on the bridge around 12.30 am. Death was instant. He was returning to Gudem from Jagtial district at the time of the incident.

Based on a complaint received from his father, a case was registered against the driver of the car. Investigation is on.
