Hyderabad: A 22-year-old youth was brutally murdered allegedly by a group of his companions following a quarrel over an unknown matter at Srinagar Colony in Hayathnagar area.

According to information available, the victim, identified as Charan, was chased while trying to escape before the attackers allegedly caught him, assaulted him with sticks and stones, and fatally injured him.

Charan and the assailants, who are known to each other, had reportedly consumed alcohol together when an argument broke out. The dispute soon escalated into violence, prompting Charan to flee. However, the suspects allegedly pursued him, dragged him to an isolated spot and attacked him brutally, leading to his death.

Hayathnagar police are investigating the exact motive behind the killing and efforts continue to nab all those involved.
