Youth run over by tractor; relatives ask Metpally police for action against sand mining

Jagtial: Family members and relatives of Narra Shekhar (27), who died after falling under a sand-laden tractor, thronged the Metpally police station on Saturday demanding justice for the deceased’s family.
According to police, Shekhar, who was sitting on the tractor, accidentally fell to the ground in the early hours of Saturday and was run over by one of the rear tyres, resulting in his death.
The incident occurred while sand was being transported illegally from Atmakur to Bandalingapur in Metpally mandal.
Soon after receiving news of the incident, Shekhar’s family members and relatives gathered at the police station and pressed for action against the illegal sand mining.
