ZEE5 unveils first look of ‘Mothevari Love Story’; Series to stream from August 8
The first look launch event was held in Hyderabad on Wednesday, July 9, with actor Anand Deverakonda as the chief guest.
Hyderabad: ZEE5 has announced its latest Telugu original, Mothevari Love Story, which will premiere exclusively on the streaming platform from August 8. The rooted comedy drama, set in rural Telangana, brings together fresh faces and an authentic local flavour that celebrates village life, culture and family bonds.
The first look launch event was held in Hyderabad on Wednesday, July 9, with actor Anand Deverakonda as the chief guest. He released the title and poster, expressing his admiration for the My Village Show team behind the project. Calling the series a “big-hearted” one, Anand recalled how the team’s YouTube videos helped him prepare for his role in Dorasani and said he was happy to support their OTT debut.
Directed by Shiva Krishna Burra, the seven-episode series stars Anil Geela and Varshini Reddy Junnuthula in the lead roles. Anil, who also edited the series, said the team felt they had reached their limit on YouTube and wanted a wider audience. “We gave up our comforts to make this possible. Thanks to ZEE5 and Madhura Sreedhar anna for believing in us,” he said.
Mothevari Love Story is produced by Village Show Movies and Madhura Entertainment. It promises plenty of laughs and twists, with a single wedding becoming the centre of the plot. The show’s soundtrack is composed by Charan Arjun.
ZEE5’s Telugu team said the series will highlight the Telangana dialect and rural life, much like their earlier success, Oka Chinna Family Story. Business Head Anuradha noted that the platform has always supported authentic regional stories and believes this series will connect well with viewers.
Producer Madhura Sreedhar said he always wanted to launch Anil as a hero. “We trusted their vision and gave them creative freedom. This is the first web series rooted in Telangana culture, and I’m sure it will win hearts,” he said.
The event also saw My Village Show fame Gangavva, who wished the team success. Actress Varshini Reddy described the project as a refreshing experience for audiences.
ZEE5 Originals Vice President Sai Tej Deshraj summed up the mood, saying the journey of Anil and his team shows that hard work pays off. “They are truly inspiring, and this show is their next big step,” he said.
With its local vibe and emotional storytelling, Mothevari Love Story is all set to stream on ZEE5 from August 8.
