An eye-witness to the horrific bus accident near Kurnool, recounts the incident. A fellow road user shifted six injured persons to hospital in his car, she narrates
Hyderabad: In a heart-wrenching account, one of the eyewitnesses, Hyma Reddy described the horrifying moments following the Kaveri Travels bus fire accident in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
Recounting her experience, Hyma in a video which she posted on social media said, “I was traveling from Puttaparthi to Hyderabad when traffic came to a standstill near Kurnool. When I went ahead to check, I saw the bus engulfed in flames,” she said, breaking down in tears.
She immediately alerted the Kurnool SP, who alerted the Rural CI and a police team to the spot. Fire fighters and ambulances soon arrived.
Later, a man named Harish from Dharmavaram rushed six injured passengers to hospital in his car.
Recalling the aftermath, Hyma said, “The bus was completely burnt. Seeing the charred remains and skeletal bodies on the seats was unbearable. There was no chance to save anyone. The sight will haunt me forever.”
A motorcycle driven by Shiva Shankar trapped beneath the bus also caught fire post the collision, and he died on the spot.
