Hyderabad: In a joint operation, the EAGLE Force and local police arrested a 47-year-old woman for alleged possession of synthetic drugs in Banjara Hills on Tuesday.
The woman, identified as Hassa, a resident of Banjara Hills, was caught near a mobile phone store on Road No. 3 and police seized MDMA and an LSD blot from her.
Medical tests conducted after her arrest confirmed the presence of methamphetamine and amphetamine in her body.
According to the police, during questioning, Hassa revealed that she had established contacts with drug suppliers during multiple trips to Goa over the past year. She allegedly procured MDMA and LSD from one Romi Bharath Kalyani, a known drug offender based in Goa, either directly or through intermediaries, and consumed the substances in Hyderabad and Goa.
Investigators said Kalyani has a long criminal history under the NDPS Act, with several cases registered against him in Hyderabad, Goa and Mumbai. He is also accused of sourcing narcotics from foreign suppliers and distributing them to local consumers.
Hassa, along with the seized narcotics, was handed over to the Banjara Hills police for further action.
