Hyderabad: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Hyderabad Central University (HCU) has flagged the university’s land encroachment issue with the Union Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, who visited the campus here on Wednesday.
The ABVP-HCU delegation led by president Balakrishna Kanukati and secretary Sakshi apprised the Union Minister about the demolition of the university boundary wall by unknown persons and laying of a road inside the campus. They also pointed out that there were no boundary walls at several places on the campus, making the varsity land vulnerable for further encroachment.
The delegation also voiced concerns over declining deer population on the campus due to attacks by stray dogs and killings by unknown persons and sought immediate steps for protection of deer population and other flora and fauna.
The delegation that included Ayesha, Mahesh, Anil, Yashashwi, Shiva, Gokul, Dinesh, Sumanth, Devender, and Reetanjali, raised issues of faulty construction of new buildings, appointment of regular controller of examinations, increasing of five per cent attendance relaxation on medical grounds, and establishment of sewage plant on the campus.
