Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, who recently carried out checks at the Shamshabad Tahsildar Office, exposing alleged corruption of G Krishna, a Revenue Inspector, said that he was caught trying to hide an official file on the roof of a toilet while discarding unaccounted cash during the inspection.
The ACB seized Rs 29,650 cash from Krishna during the raid, while Rs 60,000 in unaccounted cash was recovered from the car of Tahsildar K Ravinder Dutt. Another Rs 10,000 in cash was seized from a licensed surveyor attached to the mandal office.
The inspection also revealed that 68 Mee Seva applications were pending beyond the prescribed deadline and that no personal cash register was being maintained in the office.
ACB officials further found that the Tahsildar had allegedly issued certain certificates and proceedings beyond his jurisdiction in connection with land matters in Shamshabad, Tondupally and Sathamrai villages.
The ACB said the preliminary inquiry pointed to serious procedural violations, with some official orders allegedly benefiting private parties and causing loss to government interests.
