Warangal Rural: ACB officials caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) Edaraboina Iylaiah red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000 from a complainant ‘for processing a file pertaining to sanction of financial assistance under the government scheme ‘Kalyana Lakshmi’ on Monday.
According to a ACB press note, Iylaiah, who was working at the Tahilsdhar office, Nallabelli, demanded Rs 5,000 bribe from one Devaraju Ekambaram of Rajupeta village of Narsampet mandal, to process the file of Kalyana Lakshmi. “Though, he demanded Rs 5,000, following a request he agreed to process the file for Rs 3,000,” the note said, adding that Ilyaiah was caught while he was accepting the bribe in front of the house of the complainant.
