Adilabad: 2,862 nominations filed for 494 panchayats that go for polls in 3rd phase
A total of 2,862 nominations were filed for 494 gram panchayats in the erstwhile Adilabad district for the third phase of rural local body polls. Another 8,858 nominations were submitted for 4,152 wards. Withdrawals are allowed until December 9; polling is on December 17.

Adilabad: A total of 2,862 nominations were filed for 494 gram panchayats notified for polls in the third phase in erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday.
Officials said that 658 nominations were submitted from 151 gram panchayats in Adilabad, while 102 gram panchayats of Mancherial saw 899 nominations. A sum of 714 nominations was received for 133 villages in Nirmal district and 108 panchayats of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district witnessed 591 nominations.
Meanwhile, 4,152 wards saw 8,858 nominations on the last date for submitting papers in erstwhile Adilabad. In Adilabad district, 2,068 nominations were filed for 1,220 wards, while 2,276 nominations were filed from 868 wards of Mancherial district. A total of 2,268 nominations were filed from 1,126 wards in Nirmal district and 938 wards of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district recorded 2,246 nominations.
Candidates are allowed to withdraw their nominations on December 9. The rural local bodies will go for polls on December 17.
