Adilabad reels under severe cold, minimum temperatures dip to 10 degrees Celsius

Parts of erstwhile Adilabad district experienced severe cold for the fourth consecutive day, with minimum temperatures dropping to 10°C in Sirpur (U) and Tiryani. Residents kept warm with woollen clothes and bonfires, while fog disrupted traffic on NH 44.

Adilabad: Parts of erstwhile Adilabad district are reeling under severe cold conditions for the fourth day on Thursday.

According to weather report on the website of Telangana Development Planning Society, Sirpur (U) mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district recorded a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius witnessed the minimum temperature of 11.1 degrees C. Minimum temperature of Sirpur (U) and Tiryani mandal hovered around 10 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. Kerameri, Jainoor, Wankidi and Lingapur mandals have registered freezing cold conditions.


Meanwhile, Sathnala mandal in Adilabad district had 11.1 degrees C of minimum temperature. Bheempur mandal, Bela, Boath, Mavala, Gadiguda, Jainad and Tamsi, Talamadugu, experienced the minimum temperature of 12 degrees C. Pembi, Dasturabad, Sarangapur and Kaddampeddur mandals in Nirmal district, Hajipur, Luxettipet, Jannaram, Mandamarri, Jaipur and Bheemaram mandals saw a considerable dip in minimum temperatures.

Following the cold and frosty weather conditions, people from all walks of life, in particular elderly and children were forced to keep their bodies warm using woollen sweaters and making bonfires with the help of timber logs. They did not venture outdoors until 8 am. Motorists faced problems on NH 44 due to fog enveloped roads.
