The outfit's state president and Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao donated Rs 20,000 and a dictionary to 10 students each and assured all support in future too, after felicitating them at a programme here on Wednesday.
Adilabad: Tudum Debba, a tribal rights organization, came to the rescue of tribal students who secured seats in premier engineering institutions. The outfit’s state president and Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao donated Rs 20,000 and a dictionary to 10 students each and assured all support in future too, after felicitating them at a programme here on Wednesday.
Bapu Rao was all praise for the rankers for securing seats to pursue different branches of engineering in premier institutions. He termed their accomplishment as a feat and promised to extend financial aid and other support to them in future. He advised them to serve society and to reach great heights in their careers.
The students who were felicitated by the organisation included Arka Ashok, Naini Mamatha, Manepalli Roja, Naitham Rajesh, Sidam Mahesh, Mesram Maru Bai, Pendur Panchapala, Sidam Maheshwari, Madavi Dattu and Kodapa Mahesh belonging to different parts of erstwhile Adilabad district. They got through JEE-Advanced and got admissions in Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and National Institutes of Technology (NIT).
The students expressed gratitude to Tudum Debba and its leaders for extending help to them. Arka Ashok said the monetary assistance would help them purchase books and for their travel and incidental expenditures. He also pointed out that many meritorious students were forced to quit studies because of the weak financial background of their parents.
Swaroes Adilabad district president P Ushanna, leaders of Tudum Debba, Rathnapur sarpanch Pendur Rambai and the students’parents were present.
