AIMIM to contest Maharashtra municipal elections, releases candidate list
AIMIM has announced its plans to contest the upcoming municipal elections in Maharashtra, scheduled for next year. Party Maharashtra in-charge and former MP Imtiyaz Jaleel released the list of candidates for Nanded, Jalna, Mumbra, Dhule, Vasai-Virar, and Mumbai municipal corporations.
Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will be contesting the municipal elections in Maharashtra scheduled next year in the state.
The AIMIM party Maharashtra in-charge and former MP Imtiyaz Jaleel released the list of candidates the party is fielding in Nanded, Jalna, Mumbra, Dhule, Vasai Virar and Mumbai municipal corporations on Sunday.
The party will field men and women candidates from various wards across districts of Maharashtra where it has a strong presence.
The AIMIM in the recently held local body elections in Maharashtra contested and won 81 seats.
Imtiyaz Jaleel, told a private news channel that the party is serious about contesting the municipal elections and expects to win several seats across the state in the upcoming municipal elections.
