Graduation ceremony of 148 ATSS AND 112 ATM&AL (B) courses held at Air Force Academy in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: To mark successful completion of training of No-148 Air Traffic Surveillance Services (ATSS) course and No-112 Air Traffic Management & Air Laws (ATM & L(B)) course, a graduation ceremony was held at Air Traffic Control Officers’ Training Establishment (ATCOTE), Air Force Academy, on Thursday.
The Indian Air Force (IAF), Indian Army and Indian Coast Guard officers were part of the six months long ATM & AL(B) course, while the IAF, Indian Navy, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) officers formed part of the ATSS, a three months long mid – level course.
Air Force Academy, Commandant, Air Marshal S Shrinivas, who was the reviewing officer, congratulated the graduating officers.
Highlighting the critical role of air traffic controllers in military aviation when most of the military bases were now converted to joint user aerodromes, Air Marshal Shrinivas acknowledged their immense involvement in smooth implementation of flexible use of airspace.
The Air Marshal also emphasized on the need to facilitate usage of restricted airspace for expediting traffic after the introduction of conditional routes in military airspace.
