Mancherial: A 60-year-old farmer was allegedly killed by his son, who bludgeoned his father to death with a wooden pestle for refusing to give him money to buy liquor at Sevadasnagar in Jannaram mandal headquarters on Saturday.
Police said the victim, Jadav Shankar Naik, was murdered by his son Noorsingh following a family dispute at their residence. When Shankar refused to give him money for liquor, Noorsingh reportedly attacked him with the pestle, smashing his head. Neighbours, who noticed Shankar lying in a pool of blood, alerted his daughter Jyothi, who later filed a complaint with the police.
According to the police, Noorsingh was addicted to alcohol and was unemployed. His mother had died of an illness earlier, and his wife had left him a few years ago due to harassment. A murder case has been registered against Noorsingh, and investigation is underway.
