Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy on Thursday said all the eligible persons will be provided with 2BHK houses. He laid the foundation stone for 600 double-bedroom houses, costing Rs 31.80 crore, at Siddapur in Nirmal mandal on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Indrakaran stated that all homeless and financially weak families would be given the houses soon. The state government took up the prestigious double-bedroom houses as per the ideal of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who envisaged every economically challenged person should live happily in a modern house equipped with all facilities.
The Minister further said that 2,100 houses would be constructed in phased manner in Nirmal town. He said that the government was going to sanction funds helping the poor, who own a piece of land to build the house. Guidelines would be issued soon, he added.
Indrakaran reiterated that the government was committed to the welfare of all sections of society. He stated that both the developmental programmes and welfare schemes were not hindered by the Covid-19 pandemic. The credit of allocating funds for implementing various schemes goes to the State. Rythu Bandhu, social security pensions, etc., are being continued.
The Minister said that the new Revenue Act ended land disputes. The drinking water crisis was addressed by Mission Bhageeratha, while irrigation facilities were improved by different major projects. Today, the State is no more seeing errant outages of power. With the help of the initiatives, weaker sections, minority communities and the financially poor were leading a happy life. Guidelines were going to be issued for issuing new ration cards in a couple of weeks, he stated.
Later, the Minister participated in an awareness meeting over oil palm tree cultivation in Nirmal town. He advised farmers to go for growing the trees and to make agriculture profitable. He said that taking up alternate crops was the need of the hour. He added that the soil of Nirmal district was suitable for cultivating the palm oil trees.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijayalaxmi, Farmer Coordination Committee district president Ramkishan Reddy, agriculture market committee chairman Narmada, district agriculture officer Anji Prasad, DRDO Venkateshwarlu, district horticulture officer Sharat Kumar and others were present.
