Hyderabad: Customers in Telangana are increasingly opting for premium smartphones, smart TVs, and wearables in the run-up to the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2025, which begins on September 23 with 24-hour early access for Prime members.

According to Amazon India, the state is witnessing double-digit growth in smartphone sales, a 45% surge in premium TV sales, and a 60% rise in mid-premium wearable sales. This trend reflects growing consumer appetite for advanced technology, extending beyond Hyderabad to Tier-II cities like Karimnagar, Warangal, and Nalgonda.

Amazon said more than 57,000 sellers from Telangana, including 18,000 Local Shops, are offering products across categories such as mobile phones, electronics, home, kitchen, and furniture. To support this demand, the company operates three fulfilment centres and over 500 delivery stations in the state.

“Telangana customers are driving premiumization across every category—from ₹30,000-plus smartphones to QLED TVs and health-monitoring wearables. They are investing in advanced features and superior specifications that transform their daily lives,” said Zeba Khan, Director, Consumer Electronics, Amazon India.

AI-powered shopping

This year, Amazon is introducing several AI-enabled shopping features. These include Rufus AI, a generative assistant for product comparisons and recommendations; Lens AI, which allows product searches using photos; and AI Review Highlights, which summarise customer feedback.

Kishore Thota, Director – Shopping Experience, Amazon India, said the platform is also integrating influencers into the buying process. “Over one lakh creators are part of the Amazon Influencer Program this year. Additionally, more than 2,000 live streams will be hosted on Amazon Live, where customers can interact with creators in real time,” he said.

Expanding infrastructure

Amazon has expanded its network ahead of the festive rush with 12 new fulfilment centres, six new sort centres, and 45 new delivery stations nationwide. In Telangana, three fulfilment centres and more than 500 delivery stations are already operational, creating local jobs and enabling faster deliveries.

Festival offers and Prime benefits

The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2025 will feature discounts across smartphones, electronics, fashion, and home essentials. Deals include up to 40% off on Apple and Samsung smartphones, up to 80% off on electronics, and 50-80% off on fashion and beauty brands.

Prime members can access early deals, free and fast delivery, and exclusive savings. Membership options include Annual Prime at ₹1,499, Prime Lite at ₹799, and Prime Shopping Edition at ₹399.
