Hyderabad: Amazon India has announced the expansion of Amazon Fresh to more than 270 cities across the country during the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF) 2025. The move marks a significant milestone in Amazon’s efforts to make fresh produce, groceries, household essentials, and regional favourites more accessible to millions of customers nationwide.
Newly added cities include Gorakhpur, Dehradun, Jalandhar, Zirakpur, Coimbatore, Nellore, Hassan, Kodagu, Warangal, Vizianagaram, Vellore, Tirupati, Kottayam, Kollam, Hubli, Jamshedpur, Asansol, and Durgapur, among others.
Amazon Fresh — the grocery arm of Amazon.in — enables sellers to offer a wide range of products including farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, staples, packaged foods, and household essentials, with convenient two-hour delivery slots. The platform now offers over 40,000 products, up from just 4,000 in 2023 — a tenfold increase in selection.
The expanded assortment includes 3,000+ regionally loved products, from Rajdhani atta and Eastern masalas to GRB sweets and Sri Bhagyalaxmi staples, catering to India’s diverse culinary preferences.
“Amazon Fresh has grown 4.5X in reach and 10X in selection in just two years, transforming how families across India shop for groceries online,” said Srikant Sree Ram, Director – Amazon Fresh India. “By expanding to over 270 cities, we’re making everyday and festive essentials accessible to more households than ever before. This has been possible through the expansion of our seller network, presence across cities, and advanced delivery capabilities.”
He added that during the Great Indian Festival, Amazon’s focus is on freshness, savings, and convenience, helping customers spend more time celebrating with their loved ones.
Vinod Nambiar, Managing Director of More Retail Limited (MRL), one of Amazon Fresh’s key sellers, said, “We have converted more than 370 of our More offline stores to also serve Amazon Fresh customers. This integration has enabled our business on the platform to grow 65% year-on-year in 2024, and it continues to expand significantly.”
Amazon Fresh sellers have also built a robust farm-to-doorstep supply network, working directly with over 13,000 registered farmers across India. Every product goes through a four-step quality check process — inspection, grading and sorting, temperature-controlled storage, and final quality verification — before reaching customers.
During the Amazon Great Indian Festival, customers can avail festive deals starting at just ₹1, enjoy up to ₹400 cashback on grocery shopping, and explore newly launched Diwali décor essentials including lights, rangoli kits, and sweets. Weekly Super Value Days on Amazon Fresh also offer extra savings on groceries and daily household items.
