Karimnagar: Representatives of various Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) from the Andaman and Nicobar islands have lauded the functioning of the PACS of the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB).
Appreciating the computerisation of the PACS and diversifying the PACS activities into multi-services centres (MSC), the Union Territory team had assured that they would emulate the Karimnagar PACS model in their island.
A team of representatives from Andaman and Nicobar island state cooperative bank and PACS on Wednesday visited the PACS Oturu in Manakondur mandal and also PACS Choppadandi, which was adjudged as the best PACS in the country for its diversified activities.
They inspected the functioning of the diversified activities of the PACS in Oturu and Choppadandi and benefited the farming community with multifarious activities and empowerment programmes.
PACS Oturu chairman Pradeep explained about their society such as operating a rice mill, seed processing plant, mineral water plant, and petrol filling station.
The team was comprising O Abdul Aziz, chairman PACS, G Gopi, PDC head office resource person, P Venkat Raman, Paid secretary, Shoal Bay PACS, Makhan Biswas, Paid secretary, Pallimangal PACS, Kishore Kumar Roy, Paid secretary, Rehabilitation PACS, P Abdul Aziz, paid secretary, Pallishree PACS, Anand Kumar, AGM (development) HO and N Giri Kumar, Manager IT Cell, HO.
Karimnagar PDC Satyanarayana, BDO Rajender, retired TSCAB officer Narasimha Rao also accompanied the team and explained about the PACS in Karimnagar. The delegation also visited the KDCCB main branch and inspected its functioning.
