SP Sunil Dutt released publicity posters of Anti Human Trafficking Unit at Kothagudem on Friday.
Kothagudem: The district police has established an Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) as part of the cyber lab to prevent human trafficking.
Inspector of Police Konda Srinu would be the in-charge of the AHTU. Sub-Inspectors of Police Venkateswarlu and Purushotham would be the members while head constable Nagaiah and constable Chennappa would serve as the staff of the unit.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt held a coordination meeting with the officials of different government departments here on Friday. The meeting was attended by District Child Line coordinator K Raj Kumar, member Subramanyam, Child Protection Officer Siva Kumari, ICDS officer Hari Kumari, Women and Child Welfare officer Varalakshmi and others.
Speaking at the meeting the SP stressed on the need for effective coordination between the government agencies for better functioning of the AHTU. He warned that serious action would be taken against those involved in the trafficking of women and children.
