Apollo Cancer Centres host ‘Tame the Fire’ awareness drive in Hyderabad
Senior oncologists at Apollo Cancer Centres in Hyderabad emphasised the importance of early diagnosis of prostate cancer during the awareness programme ‘Tame the Fire’. Dr Vijay Anand Reddy described prostate cancer as a “silent fire” that often goes unnoticed until advanced stages, but remains highly treatable if detected early.

Hyderabad: Senior oncologists on Wednesday stressed the importance of early diagnosis of prostate cancer for proper recovery and treatment.
Speaking at the prostate cancer awareness programme, ‘Tame the Fire’, organised by Apollo Cancer Centres, senior oncologist, Dr Vijay Anand Reddy said, “Prostate cancer is a silent fire-slow, unnoticed, and often ignored until it grows beyond control. But when caught early, it is one of the most treatable cancers in men.”
Dr. Sanjai Kumar Addla stressed the impact of early detection while Dr. Ashwin M Shah, Senior Radiation Oncologist explained key warning symptoms and Dr. S.V.S.S. Prasad, Senior Medical Oncologist spoke about advanced and emerging therapies.
The event also featured cancer survivors Sudhakar and Venu Gopal, who shared their journey of defeating cancer. Dr. R. Srinath Bharadwaj, Vikram Singh Mann, Director General, Telangana Fire, Disaster Response, Emergency & Civil Defence Department and senior cancer specialists were present.
