Apollo Hospitals partners with Medtronic for using AI in stroke management
The AI technology enabled advanced stroke management will be launched in ten locations of Apollo Hospitals including Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals Group on Thursday announced its partnership with India Medtronic Private Limited to integrate artificial intelligence (AI), aimed at extending advanced stroke management to patients. The AI platform to diagnose strokes, which has been approved by USFDA, will provide automated analysis in less than two minutes, enabling faster decision making while handling stroke patients, a press release said.
The AI technology enabled advanced stroke management will be launched in ten locations of Apollo Hospitals including Jubilee Hills. “The partnership will bring together Apollo Hospitals’ clinical expertise, AI platform and stroke technologies from Medtronic to transform stroke treatment in the country” said Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group.
The use of AI platform in stroke management will reduce diagnosis time from 60 minutes to just two minutes. Due to the AI platform, time between onset of stroke to treatment is significantly reduced which can help in improving outcome, reducing hospital stay and saving costs for the patient.
Madan Krishnan, Vice-President, Medtronic Indian Subcontinent, Preetha Reddy, Vice-Chairperson and Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group and other senior doctors were present during the announcement of collaboration.
