Jagtial: ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers staged a protest demonstration demanding the State government provide salaries according to PRC. ASHA workers, under the aegis of Center of Indian Trade Union (CITU) on Monday, took out a rally from Jagtial town hall to collectorate office where they staged a dharna.

The protestors said on March 22 this year, the government had issued a GO enhancing 30 percent of the PRC. However, the hiked PRC has not been implemented for ASHA workers so far. They alleged that the salaries being paid to them were meager as the government has not fixed their salary. So, the workers were facing financial problems, they said and wanted the government to fix the Rs 10,000 salary.


Moreover, the government had announced to pay Rs 50 lakh ex gratia to ASHA workers who died of Covid but not yet implemented, they said demanded the government to do it immediately. They also wanted the government to fix a job chart, and provide smartphones along with free internet connection to do their job. In Karimnagar, the ASHA workers submitted a memorandum to District Medical and Health Officer Dr Juveria.
