Kumram Bheem Asifabad: District Collector PS Rahul Raj asked anganwadi workers to widely raise nutri-gardens. He formally inaugurated a nutri-garden on the premises of an anganwadi centre at RR Colony in Asifabad on Thursday.
Rahul Raj said that the nutri-gardens were introduced in all Anganwadi centres for checking malnutrition among children of the district. He told the officials concerned to take steps to ensure the gardens are raised at every centre. The gardens are meant for producing millets which could be used for giving nutritious supplements to the kids. A centre for grinding the grains was already created, he stated.
The IAS officer further said that digitalization of anganwadi centres was taken up for ensuring the learning process of children is continued. He stated that a smart TV and internet facility would be provided to all anganwadi centres as part of the initiative.
He inspected another anganwadi centre in Janakapur of the town. District Women and Child Welfare Officer Savitri, Asifabad Mandal Parishad President Mallikharjun, Child Development Project Officer Sadiya, Divisional Panchayat Officer Ramesh, Mandal Panchayat Officer Prasad and Panchayat Raj Secretary Rajababu were present.
