Assets worth Rs 7.69 cr seized in ACB raid on Hanamkonda Additional Collector

Hanamkonda: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Arramada Venkat Reddy, Additional Collector (Revenue), Hanamkonda, who is also the in-charge District Education Officer of Hanamkonda and is currently under suspension.
Searches at his residence and seven other places unearthed assets worth Rs 7.69 crore, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to an ACB press note issued on Tuesday, the case was registered after it was found that the officer allegedly acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and adopting dubious means during his service.
Preliminary searches were conducted after he was trapped in an earlier ACB raid, followed by fresh searches on Tuesday at his residence and seven other places belonging to him and his relatives.
During the searches, documents revealed ownership of immovable assets comprising two residential houses, one villa and one flat, valued at Rs 4.65 crore, one commercial shop valued at Rs 60 lakh, eight open plots valued at Rs 65 lakh and agricultural land admeasuring 14.25 acres valued at Rs 50 lakh.
The ACB said the market value of the properties was expected to be much higher than the official value.
In addition to the immovable assets, movable assets were also found and seized. These included cash amounting to Rs.30,00,300, bank balances totalling Rs.44,03,032, household articles valued at Rs 11 lakh, three four-wheeler vehicles valued at Rs 40 lakh and gold ornaments weighing 297 grams valued at Rs 4,35,000.
The total value of assets identified so far has been estimated at Rs 7,69,38,332, the press release said, adding that further investigation was under way to trace additional assets and to determine the exact extent of disproportionate assets, if any.
The ACB has urged the public to report any demand for bribes by public servants by contacting the toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged through WhatsApp at 9440446106, Facebook page Telangana ACB and X handle @TelanganaACB. The identity of the complainant will be kept confidential.
