Hyderabad: Social activist and former Congress leader, Bakka Judson on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the Telangana DGP office demanding immediate arrest of Bandi Sai Bageerath against whom a POCSO case has been registered.
The police later took him into custody and shifted him to a nearby police station.
Speaking to media persons, Bakka Judson said that Bandi Sanjay, being a minister, is trying to protect his son using his position. He asked what is the use of forming a special investigation team (SIT) whenever one is aware of the outcome of the SIT formed in several previous cases.
“There are two different laws for the rich and the poor in the State. If the suspects in a case are from poor families, they are killed in an encounter and if the suspects in any case are influential, they are spared,” said Judson.
He said the police should first arrest the accused in the POCSO case and immediately send him to jail. “The police have invoked bailable sections in the case to ensure the suspect in the case gets bail. The police have no guts to arrest Sai Bageerath, children of politicians in Telangana are free to do anything,” he charged.
