Balka Suman accuses CM Revanth Reddy of ties with BJP leaders
Former MLA and BRS leader Balka Suman accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of maintaining secret links with BJP leaders to influence the Jubilee Hills bypoll. He alleged that the Congress-BJP nexus had turned the police into a “private army” against the opposition
Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for what he called an unholy alliance with the BJP leadership, former MLA and BRS leader Balka Suman alleged that Revanth Reddy had underhand dealings with the BJP in the State aimed at influencing the high-stakes Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. He claimed the bypoll had exposed the strong nexus between the Congress and the BJP, with the police acting as the ruling party’s “private army” to intimidate opposition workers.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Suman said there was deep-rooted camaraderie between Revanth Reddy and BJP stalwarts, comparing their relationship to family ties. He added that the Chief Minister could secure high-level appointments in Delhi faster than even a BJP Chief Minister could dream of.
“The appointment that eludes the CM of a BJP-ruled State reaches Revanth in no time,” Suman said, alleging that Revanth Reddy had awarded lucrative contracts to BJP MPs and maintained close relations with them since his days in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
“Telangana BJP MPs are working overtime for Revanth Reddy. They have become his personal staff, protecting him more closely than they do their own party. Bandi Sanjay is functioning as his ‘help minister’ in Telangana,” Suman charged.
He described the Kishan Reddy–Revanth Reddy bond as “stronger than Ramco cement,” claiming that “BJP MPs won’t let a fly land on Revanth.”
Turning to the bypoll, Suman said Revanth Reddy had already conceded defeat through his frantic campaigning. “The CM has toured every gully for nine days, something never seen before, just to scare voters and BRS workers,” he said. Suman also demanded that 140 individuals previously bound over for violations be barred from polling stations on election day and sought a probe into biased officials.
