Mancherial: Government Whip Balka Suman has come forward to construct 100 libraries in villages under Chennur Assembly constituency at a cost of Rs 4 lakh each primarily to help jobless youth to take a shot at the forthcoming recruitment drive to be taken up by State government, “To be named ‘KCR Libraries’, the facilities will be beneficial to unemployed youngsters as the State government plans to notify massive placements lying vacant with various departments soon,” Suman told Telangana Today. He stated the designs of the buildings have already been finalised and the construction would commence at the earliest.
When he was the Member of Parliament from Peddapalli constituency, it was Balka Suman who proposed to create a study centre on the premises of District Library to provide coaching to aspirants of government jobs in 2017. The study centre has become a boon for the jobless in the area. Significantly, as many as 121 candidates have cracked the competitive exams after undergoing coaching at the centre so far.
The Government Whip, who was instrumental in giving the remarkable face-lift to the seven-year-old library in Chennur town at a cost of Rs 1 crore for constructing a new building, which was facing near-closure. Inaugurated in June of 2021, the library has separate reading rooms and toilets for male and female visitors, for the first time in Telangana.
Besides, the proposals were prepared for creating a library-cum innovation centre on the premises of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Mancherial district centre at a cost of Rs 8 crore and a skill development centre on the premises of the libraries of Bellampalli, Mandamarri and Chennur town at with Rs 5 crore each. The SKDs are meant for providing training to aspirants of government jobs.
Meanwhile, a resolution was passed by the District Libraries Department for building a new library at Vemanapalli mandal centre at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh and additional rooms at Mancherial library at a cost of Rs 8.70 lakh. Efforts are on to set up libraries in newly-created Kyathanpalli, Luxettipet and Naspur municipalities and newly-formed Kannepalli and Hajipur mandal centres. Kotapalli, Dandepalli and Jannaram mandal headquarters will have libraries with the help of donors soon.
