Hyderabad: State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar’s penchant for flirting with political controversies, conjured from nothing, continues unabated with the latest being his claim that the State Election Commission had “clarified” that they did not receive any letter from him to stop the distribution of Rs 10,000 flood-relief to affected families in the State capital.
Sanjay was basically relying on a report in one of the vernacular newspapers that quoted the SEC as saying it had not received any letter to stop distribution of the flood-relief amount. The SEC, however, rejected the report and said there was no need for it to issue clarifications on controversies.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Sanjay also continued with his rhetoric on communal lines stating that his party had not yet started provoking Hindus as alleged by the TRS. Stating that BJP will always fight for majority Hindus in the country and the State, he demanded of the TRS to deport 40,000 illegal Rohingyas staying in Hyderabad before seeking votes for the GHMC elections.
“There is no need for BJP to incite violence and there is nothing one can do if talking facts is construed as provocation. When Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao blames the BJP for bringing CAA and NRC asking us whether we want 30 crore Muslims of India to leave the country, BJP is now asking him whether he wants the Hindus of Hyderabad to live here or leave,” he said.
He alleged that TRS had realised that it would lose the GHMC poll and was handing over the city to MIM. “If MIM captures the Mayor’s seat, they will not allow us (Hindus) to visit the Bhagyalakshmi temple at Charminar, or for that matter, any other temple,” he said, and demanded that the Chief Minister first collect pending power and water bills from the old city and then seek votes in the GHMC elections.
