Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police have issued a Red Corner Notice (RCN) against an accused involved in a fatal road accident that occurred nearly ten years ago, claiming the lives of a nine-year-old girl and two others.
The accident took place on July 1, 2016, when the child Ramya, was travelling in a car along with her uncle P Rajesh and her grandfather Madhusudhana Chary after picking her up from school. The family was driving from Nagarjuna Circle on Road No. 3 towards Banjara Hills.
At the same time, a car allegedly driven by R Shravil, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol after leaving a pub, was speeding from Banjara Hills towards Nagarjuna Circle and Punjagutta. The vehicle lost control near the Panjagutta crematorium, rammed into a road divider and crashed onto the opposite side of the road, landing on the car carrying the victims.
The collision resulted in the deaths of Ramya, Madhusudhana Chary and Rajesh. Following the incident, the Banjara Hills police registered a case against the two suspects – Shravil and K Vishnu Vineeth and later filed a charge sheet in court.
However, during the course of the trial, Vishnu Vineeth reportedly left for the United States. With the case coming up for hearing soon at a local court, police have now initiated steps to secure the presence of the accused.
Authorities had recently requested the Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice to bring him back from the United States for trial and subsequently, the notice was issued.
“He is still Accused No.2 in the case and has been at large since years now. We have information that he is taking shelter in the United States and have issued the Red Corner Notice with the help of the Interpol to trace and bring him back to India to be produced before the court,” said the investigation official from Banjara Hills.
