Bankers asked to focus on achieving target of agriculture related loans

Nalgonda: Additional District Collector Vanamala Chanderashekhar on Thursday asked the bankers to fully achieve the targets set for them in crop loans, education loans and others. Speaking at the district level review committee meeting of the bankers held here, Chandrashekhar said that the bankers should focus on reaching the target of crop loans in the district. Out of targeted agricultural term loans of Rs 485.34 crore for the year 2021-22, the loans of Rs 275.82 lakh (56.83 percent) have been disbursed to the farmers by December 31, 2021.
Similarly, Rs 829.11 crore (54.42 percent) of loans have been extended to agricultural allied sector as against the target of Rs 1523.53 crore.
He instructed the bankers to speed up the process of agriculture related loans to achieve the target. He also underlined the need to create awareness in the farmers on the renewal of their crop loans.
He also asked the bankers to work with a plan to achieve the monthly target of loans to SHG women in the district. It would help in achieving the financial self sufficiency of the women, he maintained. He said that the banks should ensure hassle free process in opening the bank accounts for dalit bandhu schemes by the beneficiaries and also for mana vooru-m,ana badi programme by the School Management Committees.
Lead Bank Manager Suryam explained to the meeting that district credit plan was aimed at extending Rs 7303.57 crore of loans to different sectors and Rs 4569.79 crores (62.51 percent) of loans have been extended to the beneficiaries by December 31, 2021. Disrtrict Rural Development Officer Kalindini and officers of different banks were also attended the meeting.
