BJP leader held for forgery, threatening in Mancherial

Ajmera Harik Naik, a member of the BJP state executive committe had allegedly produced fake documents of a land owned by Ramadugu Muralidhar Rao by forging the latter's signature to sell the property.

Mancherial: A BJP leader Ajmera Harik Naik was arrested on charges of forgery of signatures, occupying a piece of land and threatening the owner of the property in Luxettipet on Friday.

Mancherial ACP R Prakash said, Naik, a member of the BJP state executive committe had allegedly produced fake documents of a land owned by Ramadugu Muralidhar Rao by forging the latter’s signature to sell the property.

Naik then threatened to kill Muralidhar if he complained against him. He also threatened to get a case registered against him under the SC, ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. Seven cases were already booked against Hari Naik. Naik had contested on the ticket of the Congress from Khanapur Assembly Constituency in 2018 polls. He subsequently joined the BJP.
