Hyderabad: BJP Legislative Party leader A Maheshwar Reddy urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to regularise the services of all the Samagra Shiksha employees working at various schools under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on Tuesday, Maheshwar Reddy reminded that Revanth Reddy had promised to regularise the jobs of Samagra Shiksha employees after coming to power, but even after one year the promise had not been fulfilled.

Around 19,000 workers, including cluster resource persons, part-time instructors, and data entry operators, were awaiting the State government’s fulfillment of its pre-election promise to regularise their employment, he said.

“In spite of their dedicated work at par with other government teachers, they are still on a contract basis. They are getting meager salaries. The government should come to their rescue and regularise their services,” he said, adding that these employees, who hold diplomas and play key roles in the education system, were underpaid compared to regular government teachers.

The BJP MLA urged the Chief Minister to provide a reasonable pay scale to these teachers and provide life insurance and health insurance coverage of Rs. 10 lakh. He warned that BJP would launch an agitation if the government failed to implement the promises made to Samagra Siksha employees.
