Education department data reveals 78% of government schools in Telangana have fewer than 100 students, with 35% having just 1–30. The figures contrast with CM Revanth Reddy’s claims of rising enrolments, raising concerns over the public education system’s strength.
The officials have taken aggressive stand against protesting employees after Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy took a u-turn on his promise to regularise their services, stating that Samagra Shiksha was a Central Government scheme
According to employees, during the Assembly elections, Reddy had promised to regularize the services of 19,000 Samagra Shiksha employees within 100 days of the Congress party coming to power in the state. However, one year into the government, this promise has yet to be fulfilled.
He extended solidarity to the employees who were staging protests at the collectorate for the past few days. Speaking to the media here on Thursday he noted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has given several promises before coming to power and resolving Samagra Shiksha workers' issues was one of them.
The association emphasized that, in line with the Supreme Court's verdict on "equal pay for equal work," employees in KGBVs and URS should receive the basic pay for their respective posts. Additionally, it demanded an annual increment of ₹1,000 for KGBV staff.
