Medak: Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and BJP national Vice-President Raman Singh on Monday claimed that the party would form the government in the State in the next Assembly elections “since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s downfall is imminent.”

Addressing a Praja Sangrama Yatra rally at Pothamsettypally in the district on Monday, the senior BJP leader alleged that corruption was rampant in the State.

Stating that Telangana was achieved with the sacrifice of over 1,400 people, Singh alleged the State could not achieve the expected growth due to Chandrashekar Rao’s policies.

“With Praja Sangrama Yatra of Bandi Sanjay (State BJP president), the dark days will end in Telangana,” he said.

Appealing to the citizens to support Bandi Sanjay and BJP, the three-time Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh said the BJP government at the Centre had achieved growth in less than seven years what Congress could not achieve in six decades.

In his address, Sanjay alleged that the Chief Minister was trying to shift the blame on paddy procurement onto the Centre.

Questioning why the Chief Minister signed the agreement with the Centre accepting procurement of only 60 lakh tonnes, the State BJP president said: “Why can’t the State government purchase the remaining 20 lakh tonnes of expected paddy harvest this Vanakalam?
