Hyderabad: Ordering ice cream online has now become louder than ever. Quick-commerce platform Blinkit has introduced a playful new feature called the “Scream for Ice Cream” challenge, turning a regular discount offer into a social media-friendly experience that is quickly going viral.

The concept is simple but unusual. Users open the Blinkit app, tap on the challenge banner and scream into their phones for 15 seconds. The louder the scream, the better the discount coupon they receive on selected ice cream brands. The app measures the sound levels in real time before generating personalised offers, encouraging users to compete with friends and share their reactions online.

The campaign has gained attention not only for its humour but also for the way it blends entertainment with shopping. Videos of people attempting the challenge in homes, offices and hostels are already circulating widely on social media, with many users treating it as a fun activity rather than just a promotional offer.

Rather than focusing only on discounts, the challenge gives users an entertaining experience with a small reward attached to it. At the same time, ice cream brands such as Amul, Kwality Wall’s and Havmor are also gaining visibility through the campaign, with the challenge indirectly helping promote their products and boost summer sales. From dramatic screams to exaggerated reactions, users are turning the feature into shareable content, making it a win-win situation for both the brands and Blinkit.
