British Deputy High Commissioner visits MNR University, bats for UK-India academic collaboration
British Deputy High Commissioner Gareth Wynn Owen visited MNR University and called for deeper UK-India collaboration in higher education. He urged students to explore platforms like UK Healthcare Bootcamps and highlighted maternal and child health during World Breastfeeding Week.

Sangareddy: British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Gareth Wynn Owen, visited MNR University in Fasalwadi on Wednesday and held discussions with the institution’s leadership, stressing the growing importance of international academic collaboration.
Owen underscored the potential for increased cooperation between universities in the United Kingdom and India to promote mutual growth and knowledge exchange. “Creating opportunities for collaboration across higher education institutions in both countries is vital,” he said. “We aim to build platforms that empower the student community and foster global academic partnerships.”
He encouraged students and faculty to explore initiatives such as the UK’s Healthcare Bootcamps, which offer advanced training and international exposure in the field of medicine.
As part of his visit, Owen also addressed medical students on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week, highlighting the critical importance of maternal and child health.
The event was attended by MNR University’s academic and administrative leadership, including Vice Chancellor Prof Krishna Chalam, Registrar Prof TV Satyanarayana and others.
