Siddipet: Accusing the Congress government of resorting to false propaganda against the BRS over the rehabilitation provided to the displaced under Mallanna Sagar, former Minister T Harish Rao said the BRS government spent over Rs.2,000 crore on the rehabilitation of oustees under Malanna Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar projects.

Speaking to news reporters in Gajwel on Sunday, Harish Rao said the BRS had built an ultra-modern rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) colony near Gajwel on 675 acres of land.

He rated it as the best and the biggest R&R colony ever built in India so far. Pointing out that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was allotting the 2BHK houses built by K Chandrashekhar Rao’s government to the displaced under the Musi River bank development project, Harish Rao said the houses were meant for the poor.

Demanding that the Chief Minister build an R&R colony for the Musi displaced in Gachibowli on 475 acres of land if he had any commitment towards them, Harish Rao said the BRS government had given Rs 7.5 lakh to each family head besides giving Rs 5 lakh to unmarried adults in the house.

The BRS had built 3, 414 houses for the displaced besides providing all amenities. Aiming to provide employment to the displaced, the BRS had also grounded an industrial park at Tunki Bollaram in Wargal mandal on 400 acres of land.
