Adilabad/Nirmal: BRS cadres were house-arrested in view of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s tour to the district, on Saturday.

Activists and leaders of the party were preventively taken into custody at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal. Echoda BRS mandal president Krishna Reddy, former MPTC member Gadge Subhash, former Sarpanch Pandurang, activists Eshwar and Mahender Reddy were among the cadres of the party who were house-arrested in the wake of Revanth Reddy’s tour to Pipri village in Bazarhathnoor mandal on Monday.

Krishna Reddy slammed the government for detaining the cadres of the BRS. He said that they would continue to question the Congress for failing to implement six guarantees made at the time of polls. He stated that they would fight against the State on behalf of the electors and farmers. He opined that the Congress was resorting to illegal arrests fearing its inefficiency would be exposed.

Similar house-arrests were made in different parts of Nirmal district considering Revanth Reddy’s tour to the district on Monday. The cadres criticised the Congress for arresting them and suppressing the voice of Opposition. They said that the Congress was feeling insecure of its governance and was detaining activists and leaders of the BRS. They were housed in local police stations.

During his a day-long tour, the Chief Minister is scheduled to lay foundation stone to integrated residential schools at Pipri village, to inaugurate developmental projects worth Rs 500 crore before inaugurating development works of Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devasthanam at Basar and arrangements for ensuing Godavari Pushkaralu or mass holy bathing event slated for 2027.
