Adilabad: Workers of the BRS staged demonstrations to protest against the suspension of Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy from the Legislative Assembly, across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday.
In Adilabad town, former Minister Jogu Ramanna led the cadres who burnt an effigy of the Congress and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for suspending Reddy. He condemned the suspension and said that Revanth Reddy was neglecting the values of democracy. The cadres raised slogans against the Congress party and the Chief Minister.
Ramanna further said that Revanth was acting like a dictator. He found fault with Revanth for failing to keep his poll promises and demanded that the government lift the MLA’s suspension. He stated that people would teach a lesson to Congress if Jagadish’s suspension was not revoked immediately.
Similar protests were witnessed in Chennur, Sirpur (T), Asifabad, Boath, Nirmal, Bhainsa, Khanapur, Mancherial, Bellampalli Assembly headquarters. MLAs Kova Laxmi, Anil Jadhav, former MLAs N Diwakar Rao, Durgam Chinnaiah, and leaders of the BRS took part in the protests.
