Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Tuesday accelerated its organisational restructuring exercise with a series of key decisions aimed at strengthening the party from the grassroots level. The party will soon launch a massive digital membership drive and cadre mobilisation programme across Telangana.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao, senior legislators, former Ministers, MLCs and party General Secretaries attended the meeting. The leadership is expected to roll out the membership campaign and committee formation exercise in phases across the State in the coming weeks.
At a marathon six-hour meeting chaired by BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at his Erravelli residence, the party resolved to digitise membership enrollment in line with the Election Commission of India’s ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which is being conducted online. The party also discussed organisational restructuring, constitution of internal committees, and appointment of in-charges.
The party chief decided to appoint dedicated Membership Coordinators from the State committee for each Assembly constituency. It also resolved to constitute Membership Coordination Committees at mandal and municipal levels within the next two to three days to oversee the enrollment process.
Accordingly, Chandrashekhar Rao finalised district-wise in-charges for the membership drive. MLC Takkellapalli Ravinder Rao was assigned Khammam and Kothagudem districts, while former Minister T Jeevan Reddy was given charge of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Sircilla districts.
Former Minister Satyavathi Rathod will oversee Mulugu, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mahabubabad districts, while MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy will coordinate the drive in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Jangaon districts.
Former Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy was entrusted with Vikarabad and Rangareddy districts, while former Minister Mahmood Ali was assigned Mahabubnagar and Narayanpet districts. Former Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will oversee Hyderabad district, and RS Praveen Kumar will coordinate the drive in Nalgonda and Suryapet districts.
BRS general secretary Gyadari Balamallu will oversee the membership drive in Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet districts, while former MLC Gangadhar Goud was assigned Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts.
While former MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao will coordinate the drive in Mancherial and Asifabad districts, party general secretary Ravula Sravan Kumar Reddy will monitor Adilabad and Nirmal districts. BRS secretary Mettu Srinivas will be in-charge of membership drive in Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthy districts, while MLC Pochampally Srinivas Reddy was tasked with Medchal-Malkajgiri and Yadadri Bhongir districts.
In a major organisational push, the BRS decided to train 71,310 party workers across the State including two members each from the 35,655 polling stations to manage the digital membership enrollment drive. Training camps will be organised under the supervision of the party’s general secretaries.
