BRS govt spent Rs 5,328 crore on Jubilee Hills development, says KTR

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday released the Jubilee Hills Progress Report, detailing the development and welfare works undertaken in the constituency during the BRS regime from 2014 to 2023. He said the previous government had spent Rs 5,328 crore for infrastructure, housing, welfare and social development, directly benefiting over 2.12 lakh people.
According to the report, the highest expenditure of Rs 2,463 crore went toward public transport and roads, including the Rs 333-crore Shaikpet flyover, Rs 408 crore for road maintenance under the CRMP scheme and Rs 1,722 crore for an 8.4-km Metro Rail stretch. The BRS government spent Rs 919 crore on public health, which included Rs 900 crore for the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) at Erragadda, and funds for KCR Kits, Kanti Velugu, nutrition kits and Arogya Lakshmi schemes.
For housing, Rs 324 crore was used for constructing double-bedroom houses. In the social welfare sector, Rs 705 crore was spent on schemes such as Aasara pensions (Rs 564 crore for 25,905 beneficiaries), Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi (Rs 63 crore for 6,320 families), Dalit Bandhu (Rs 10.6 crore), BC Bandhu (Rs 3.8 crore), and Ramzan and Christmas festive support for over 1.11 lakh beneficiaries.
The report said Rs 87 crore was spent on education, Rs 44 crore on infrastructure and safety including CCTV and street lights, Rs 505 crore on electricity maintenance, Rs 180 crore on drinking water projects such as the Borabanda reservoir and Rs 75 crore on sewage system upgrades under Strategic Nala Development Programme (SNDP). For environmental greening, Rs 26 crore was spent on parks, lakes and disaster management.
“Every rupee spent reflects our commitment to making Jubilee Hills a model constituency,” Rama Rao said.
