BRS leader Krishank Manne appears before Bhopal court in Som Distilleries case

Hyderabad: BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne on Wednesday appeared before the Bhopal court in connection with the Rs 50 lakh defamation case filed against him by Som Distilleries and Breweries Limited. He refused to apologise to the liquor company management over his allegations against the company for producing and selling substandard and spurious liquor. The case has been postponed to January 15.
He also informed the court about his decision to contest the case, stating that his fight was to protect public health and prevent the sale of spurious liquor in Telangana.
“The health of the people of Telangana is our priority, and BRS will not back down. We have exposed the facts, and our commitment to transparency and accountability remains steady,” he said, while speaking to the media.
The petition was filed against Krishank in connection with his allegations against the company, leading to cancellation of permission given by the Congress government in Telangana to sell its liquor in the State in June this year. He charged the Congress government with involvement in liquor scam by giving approvals to Som Distilleries. He said the liquor manufacturer had links with Congress leaders and gave donation to the party to obtain permissions to sell its beer brands in Telangana, while facing charges of supplying adulterated liquor in Madhya Pradesh.
