Siddipet: Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy said the victory of BRS-supported candidates in the gram panchayat elections was a clear indication that people had lost faith in the ruling Congress party.

He said BRS-backed candidates won 84 gram panchayats out of 141 in the first two phases of the elections in Dubbak constituency, while the Congress, the BJP and independents shared the remaining panchayats among themselves. The BRS leader said the party lost a few villages as two BRS candidates had contested against each other in those panchayats.

Only four panchayats from the constituency are scheduled to go to polls in the third phase.

The Dubbak MLA organised a felicitation programme for BRS sarpanch candidates and ward members who emerged victorious in the elections. He also felicitated those who lost the elections, appreciating their fighting spirit and commitment to strengthening the party base.

Prabhakar Reddy attributed the BRS victory to the development works and welfare programmes implemented during the 10-year BRS rule under the leadership of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said the Congress government’s neglect of village development had also worked in favour of the BRS.
